OUR BELIEFS

Since the dawn of creation mankind has sought to understand the fundamental question behind existence: WHY?

Everyone who has ever existed has been called to answer this question and ultimately there are only two answers:

The first possible answer is that there is no reason behind existence, no purpose to life, and no meaning to be found in anything. This answer inevitably leads to the self fulfilling prophecy of nihilism in that if you believe life is meaningless you will inevitably live a meaningless life.

The second answer to the question is that there is a reason behind existence, every life has a purpose, and that meaning is there to be found for everyone. Inevitably for there to be a reason or purpose for existence there must be a force or being behind creation providing the framework and opportunity to find meaning and purpose.

We look to the world around us and see the beauty of creation and life, the order and complexity of systems from the microscopic to the vast reaches of the universe and we see meaning in it all. For us there can be no doubt that there is a force behind creation and existence and we refer to it as God. While traditional definitions have characterized “God” in the visual representation of a divine being with mankind specifically in his image our beliefs encompass a much broader vision as the force and spirit behind all of creation throughout the universe but for the purposes of discussion use the term God as it is most commonly understood.

In seeking answers to the question about what our purpose in life is we again look to the path God has laid out for us. The positive forces that can be observed from the microscopic to the infinite scope of the universe include growth, expansion, increasing order and complexity, and we seek to mirror and reinforce these values in our lives to live up to the legacy God has laid out for us.

We believe God has given us three divine gifts; the Body, the Mind, and the Soul. It is therefore our mission in life to grow and expand these gifts to their fullest potential and this is how we pursue enlightenment and show reverence, and gratitude to the ultimate creative force, God. This is what we term walking the Path of Enlightenment.

We believe that growth and expansion of the three gifts comes in two forms; the planned and the unexpected and both are equally important on the Path. The planned refers to taking a mindful and active role in increasing and improving the Body, Mind, and Soul. The unexpected refers to the challenges that we will all inevitably be forced to overcome in life and can often offer us the greatest opportunity for growth in Body, Mind, and Spirit. We believe we must always be planning and actively growing so that we are able to meet the unexpected and be as prepared as possible to overcome and grow from whatever challenge we face.

Everyone is on their own Path to Enlightenment and we as a community are here to meet them wherever they are on their journey. The ultimate act of growth and creation is through family and community and this is what we strive to offer at our Church.

February 2022 – Statement on Vaccination

In light of the extraordinary measures being implemented both locally and worldwide, the members of the church have increasingly found themselves faced with discrimination and religious persecution in the workplace and the community at large.  As a Church we seek only the freedom to practice our faith in peace and pursue the Path that God has laid out before each of us.  The Church is unequivocal that vaccination is a violation of the Gift of the Body and the act is a clear contravention of the Doctrine of the Body.  Any outside interpretation of our beliefs to the contrary is without any basis in fact.

THE 3 DOCTRINES

OF THE ENLIGHTENED PATH

DOCTRINE OF THE BODY

The Body is of no less importance than the Mind or Soul and should be treated as such. If this were not so, God would have created us as formless intelligent souls as his creation is deliberate and holds purpose. When we accept that the Body holds equal importance to the Mind and Soul we must treat it as the holy gift that it is.

In all things we must ensure that the Body remains as pure and uncorrupted as possible giving our divine gift the ability to grow, strengthen and flourish naturally in the face of all challenges. Respect and care must be taken in what you eat, what you drink, and how you use and prepare your Body.

A strong Body is required to walk the Path and overcome the unexpected challenges you will face. Plan to constantly challenge your Body’s limits so that when a time of need comes you are able to meet it.

Pursue the physical virtues of strength, endurance, resilience, flexibility, and physical health as a whole as they are all pieces of the same puzzle.

Your Body is uniquely your own and you must only seek your own limits not anyone else’s.

DOCTRINE OF THE MIND

The Mind controls all, if your Mind is not your own then neither is your Body or your Soul and you risk losing all of the Gifts that God has given you. You must cultivate a Mind that is strong, resilient, and incorruptible, one that is ready in the face of whatever challenges may come.

A closed Mind can never grow and expand, so you must at all times remain open to new ideas and be able to revist and revise what you hold as true in the face of a deeper understanding.

To analyze you must understand, to understand you must know, to know you must learn, to learn you must be open. At all times you must keep your hunger to learn as your Mind can never be satiated.

In all that you do you must let logic and the scientific method guide your Mind as they provide the framework for your Mind to face any challenge.

DOCTRINE OF THE SPIRIT

The Spirit while an equal gift to the Body and Mind has the capacity to be the most beautiful. While the Body and Mind will have different physical limits for each person the Spirit is boundless. There are no limits to the love you can feel and share, the courage you can show in the face of overwhelming odds, the happiness you can find in the simple pleasures of life of the laugh of a child.

The Spirit is the guiding light in your existence and must always be carefully cultivated to ensure that light never goes out. It is not the Mind that drives the higher emotions it is the Spirit as can be seen when in a situation where all logic would tell you there is no chance of success you still chose to hope, believe, or love even against all odds.

Just as the Body and Mind must be strengthened so too must the Spirit and you must at all times remain vigilant for negative emotions and replace them with the opposite positive emotions. Fear, hate, sadness, regret, jealousy, selfishness these are just examples of negative Spirit states that serve only to take you off of your Path of Enlightenment and you must resist them with the power of courage, love, joy, hope, compassion, selflessness.
